Jessica and Brandon Wheeler Wedding Ceremony
Even though we were only there to capture Jessica & Brandon's ceremony, we were able to capture some mock prep shots and formal shots as well. Jessica & Brandon's ceremony was held at the ‘Battery Knoll,’ which was perfect to have the iconic Portland Headlight in the background of each and every shot during the ceremony. Another special piece to this wedding was the fact that Jessica & Brandon's fur-children, two Australian Cattle Dogs, were included in their ceremony, walking both Brandon and Jessica down the aisle respectfully. Having a ceremony in a public place is something to be conscientious of, as there is no stopping bystanders from attending a rather private occasion. Sound equipment was also an issue in the public park, as there were no sound system, other than a bluetooth speaker for music walking in, and as a detail-oriented cinematographer, I utilized lavalier microphones on both the bride and groom, along with the officiant. This works great for post-production, but on the day of the wedding the wedding guests had a hard time hearing vows, as all speaking was rather low in tone and quiet with the public all around. This wedding ceremony was a unique setting, with breath-taking views and an iconic view that shouts Maine!
